윈도우에서 OpenVPN 연결 문제 해결

NOTE: OpenVPN is the VPN software used in our standard client distribution. So if you are having trouble with the client you've downloaded from our website, this section is for you.

ZenVPN client fails to start

Check C:\Program Files\ZenVPN OpenVPN bundle\zenvpn.log for error messages.

This usually happens when the client cannot detect OpenVPN service running on the machine. That would be indicated by the following line in the log file:

Error communicating with OpenVPN

If that is the case, try navigating to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services, locating OpenVPN Service and starting it. If the service starts successfully and you are able to launch ZenVPN client afterwards, make sure that the service is set to auto-start.

OpenVPN service fails to start

If the OpenVPN service fails to start up, the reason can usually be found by looking at Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System.

The most common cause is problems with TAP driver. If the event log indicates that is the case for you, try doing the following:

  1. Download TAP driver from the OpenVPN website
  2. Install the TAP driver selecting all the available components during installation
  3. Run C:\Program Files\TAP-Windows\bin\addtap.bat

VPN connection is established but websites are inaccessible

This is most often caused by a bug in Windows that prevents OpenVPN from changing system nameservers. Try setting them manually to Google's public DNS servers - these should work regardless of wheter you are connected to the VPN.
